Tom Koert has well over a decade of coaching experience with both the boys and girls High School golf programs at NorthPointe Christian in Grand Rapids. Through these coaching years, he has taken both of his teams to a combined 16 state finals, named MI Division Coach of the Year 3 times, and 19 of his players have continued their golfing careers at the collegiate level. Two of Tom's children have played under his coaching and were named to the Michigan Super Team as Seniors in High School. Tom’s love for the game and for those who play it, runs deep. He has a keen eye for talent and puts countless hours into young individuals in order to help them reach their goals and aspirations on and off the golf course. Tom lead the West Michigan Junior Golf Tour for the past nine years (2014 - 2023). He elevated the status and participation of the Tour beyond expectations. Tom has influenced more players and developed their golf game as well as their integrity. Tom continues as an Official on the Tour, and helps out with administration. Tom is willing to share information about talented players on the Tour with his many college connections, which is why our Scholarship Fund continues to excel.
Frank Jenks has coached high school golf for ten years. He started with JV Girls and Boys teams. Within one year, he was named Varsity Boys Coach at Forest Hills Eastern. He stresses integrity and perseverance, focusing on making better people first, which also makes them better golfers. He has been to State Finals seven out of the last eight years. This has led Frank to receive two Michigan Regional Coach Of The Year honors and named D2 Coach Of The Year once. He does beginner golf lessons each summer in West Michigan to the praises of his new golfers. His previous professional life in the music business had him creating and organizing events throughout Michigan. These skills carry perfectly into the West Michigan Golf – Junior Tour, where Frank now takes more of a leadership role. He has found golf to be one of the best teachers of life skills. So why not do it for more and more young people? Yes, that’s the plan. And it takes a lot of planning for each Junior Tour Event. You’ll be happy he’s directed his energy and time toward the West Michigan Golf – Junior Tour starting this year (2024).
